Dr. J.A. Navío is Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Seville (Spain), where he teaches in subjects in the area of Inorganic Chemistry. In 1981, Dr. J.A. Navío received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Seville (Spain). He received a postdoctoral fellowship at the School of Studies in Chemistry and Chemical Technology in the University of Bradford (U.K.) where he continued with his research work in laboratories of Prof. R.I. Bickley for two years.

He has over 35 years of professional experience in materials synthesis and characterization for (photo)-catalysis. He has been the advisor of numerous doctoral theses related to the synthesis, characterization and photo-catalytic activity of materials for the treatment of environmental pollution both for treatments of contaminated waters and gases.

His research activities are carried out at the Institute of Materials Science of Seville (Spain), which is a Mixed Centre between the University of Seville and the CSIC (Spain), leading the research group named “Heterogeneous Photocatalysis: applications”. He has authored or co-authored more than 185 papers published in indexed journals.

Dr. J.A. Navío has collaborated with many scientists all over the world producing many joint papers in journals, and Abstracts in proceedings of national and international conferences. A link of publications can be found here:
